If you have found you set goals easily
but achieving them is hit or miss
then this is the course for you.

Have you ever wondered what rested behind your decisions to procrastinate, delay or otherwise avoid the tasks that you know, if you did, your life and work would be better?

The Labyrinth is a wonderful 5 week adventure that takes you on a journey through the mechanics of human behaviour, specifically behaviour related to goal achievement, motivation, procrastination and self-leadership. The Labyrinth delivers intelligent and rich content through the writing of the course's unique characters as the story of why people don't do what it is they intend emerges.

The course content unravels a little each day and every lesson is tied to real-life experiential activities.

The Labyrinth on-line course uses a unique set of technology-based teaching methods created by Stephanie Burns to facilitate the learning process and ensure high completion rates for this course.

We have collected comments from students who have completed the course, in a special journal. You might like to visit that journal and see what they have had to say about the course.

The Labyrinth starts the moment you enter the labyrinth gates using the personal code you create during your course orientation week in Base Camp. From there the gates close behind you and 4 weeks of learning adventures begin.

Week 1: In your first week you are guided by the Dr. Burns' fragments and messages left by the builders of the foyer assisting you to gather, test and strengthen the learning skills necessary to take full advantage of the lessons available in The Labyrinth. Four days of challenging activities set the stage for leaving the foyer confident in your ability to learn and remember what you will confronted next when you enter the organic maze that IS the South side of the labyrinth.

Week 2: In the second week you will travel through a series of convoluted twists and turns to learn about the systems of T.E.X.A.S. Three internal mechanisms that control behaviour are discussed and experienced directly in activities that focus on your work and home activities. During this week you will learn about these systems, see how they influence your behaviour, and end the week with a heightened sensitivity to the information they provide to the rest of your brain and body.

Week 3: In the third week you are off to on-line school where you will learn from a few wacky professors about how to control the systems you discovered on the South side of the labyrinth. It is a week of learning strategies and testing those strategies on real-life activities.

Week 4: The fourth and final week presents you with a challenge: What path will you take? Where do you want to end up in relation to your goals and intentions? Do you want to admire them from afar or do you wish to have them as part of your life?

In this final week you will make decisions and take actions based upon the strategies taught in The Labyrinth and that are underpinned by the new knowledge of human behaviour you gained on the South side. The activities of work and life are now the focus of your application of the lessons learned in school.

Life's main element of "time" is now better understood. Balance is now a possibility where work, relationships, health, fitness, education, rest and fun all can fit in the same frame.

general requirements

You MUST have easy access to both email and the Internet everyday of the week - Monday to Friday. These two mediums are used to deliver the lessons and assignments. Emails can be sent to a home address just as easily if it helps.

You MAY miss lessons due to unexpected situations. You can easily make up those lessons without feeling left behind. However, it is suggested that you do not start the course if you know in advance that you will be missing for large portions of time during the course. The course emails and materials can easily be accessed from anywhere in the world.

This course has been well designed for busy people. There is a gentle push to support the development of the course activities becoming a normal part of each day's routine. For the effort it takes to start that routine it becomes one seriously missed when the program ends.

Having said that though, you must understand that learning, of any significant quality, is not free. It does require some time and effort. For the weeks you are involved in a course it becomes one aspect of your job.

You will be well taken care of at all times.

Time requirements

In addition to the technology you will need quiet time to focus on the course content.

The course begins with a 1 week orientation that takes place in Base Camp. There are 4 lessons and short activities during that orientation week. These lessons are geared toward learning to use the on-line elements of the course, learning to be an on-line student, and getting to know the course characters and the meeting others members of your team.

The course itself is conducted over 4 weeks. There are 4 lessons and assignments each week. Rest days are programmed into the process. Some students take a little longer than 4 weeks to finish. There is no problem when that occurs naturally as part of the process. Life can and will exert itself on some participants. But the nature of the design is very accommodating.

Plan for between 20 and 30 minutes in the morning to read the lesson and assignment, and another 10 minutes late in the day or evening to write your daily report and you will be just fine for time. Between these two points in time there is an assignment.

Assignments in come in two forms. Some are done quickly at your desk as you read the lesson. Others involve observing or experimenting with your behaviour during normal work activities.
